New Mexico Baptist Children's Home & Family Ministries is committed to supporting the long-term growth of our houseparents. Through this program, eligible houseparents can pursue higher education while continuing their work in ministry and care. 

 The Scholarship Covers

  • 100% tuition coverage (fall/spring semester)
  • $300 book stipend per semester (fall/spring semester)
  • Tuition is paid directly to the school
  • Book Stipend is issued directly to the student at the beginning of each semester

  • Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary
  • Spurgeon College
  • New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary
  • Leavell College
  • Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary 
  • Judson College at Southeastern
  • Southern Baptist Theological Seminary 
  • Boyce College
  • Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary 
  • Texas Baptist College

Enrollment Details

  • Houseparents are eligible to apply after six months of satisfactory employment. 
  • Only one spouse may enroll during the first year of employment.
  • The second spouse becomes eligible after one full year of service. 
  • If both spouses are enrolled, only one may be full-time at a time; the other must remain part-time.
  • For full-time students, undergraduate students may take 12 hours maximum, graduate students may take 9 hours maximum, and doctoral students may take a maximum of 2 seminars. 

What is a Houseparent?

Houseparents live full-time on campus and provide family-style care for up to nine children within a large cottage environment – a uniquely demanding and deeply rewarding vocation.
