Role of Houseparents

Houseparents are everyday missionaries, bringing the love of Christ to children from hard places. They live in a family-style cottage and create a safe, Christ-centered home where healing begins and hope is restored.

Houseparents:

  • Care for a group of children by providing structure, love, discipline, and spiritual guidance in a nurturing, home-like setting

  • Manage daily routines such as meals, school prep, chores, and bedtime with consistency and grace

  • Model healthy relationships and Christ-like character in everyday life

  • Walk with children through their healing journey, offering emotional and spiritual support

  • Serve as part of a gospel-driven team dedicated to trauma-informed, biblically grounded care

The Heart of a Houseparent

The role of a houseparent is a calling—an opportunity to serve Christ by caring for children in need of love, stability, and hope. An ideal houseparent is someone who:

  • Feels called to care for children from hard places

  • Is a committed and growing follower of Jesus Christ

  • Is actively involved in a Southern Baptist Church

  • Lives an active and energetic lifestyle

  • Is looking for a meaningful place to serve and share the gospel daily
