Celebrating Kingdom Faithfulness

In a powerful testament to God's faithfulness, New Mexico Baptist Children's Home and Family Ministries (NMBCH) has gifted a building to the Pregnancy Resource Center of Eastern New Mexico (PRC). The two organizations are celebrating this moment together as evidence of what God can accomplish when His people act with generosity and obedience. While NMBCH and the PRC will remain fully separate organizations, this gift reflects a shared commitment to honoring life, supporting families, and proclaiming the love of Christ throughout Eastern New Mexico. 

 

Grounded in the Same Hope

NMBCH and the PRC share a foundation rooted in the sanctity of human life and the transforming hope of the gospel. For decades, NMBCH has served vulnerable children and families across the region, guided by the conviction that every life is a gift from God. The PRC carries that same conviction into its work, offering compassionate care, practical support, and the message of Christ's love to women and families facing unplanned pregnancies. 

 

"This gift is not the end of a chapter. It is the continuation of God's work through new hands and hearts," said Serenity Richard, NMBCH Executive Director. "We are deeply grateful for what God has done in and through this place, and we are confident that the Pregnancy Resource Center will carry that legacy forward with excellence and grace."

 

Faithful Stewardship, Bold Obedience

The decision to gift the building reflects prayerful discernment and obedience to God's call. Rather than viewing the transfer of property as simply a real estate transaction, both organizations see it as an act of Kingdom stewardship, ensuring that a space long dedicated to life and healing continues in that sacred purpose. 

 

The building itself carries a rich history as a place where life has been honored and protected, having served the community as a doctor's office and hospital. Its walls have witnessed countless moments of care, healing, and new beginnings. Now, the PRC will continue that legacy in a place where mothers, fathers, and families find support, truth, and hope. 

 

"We are humbled by this extraordinary gift and the deep trust it represents," said Jessica Van Leuven, Executive Director of the Pregnancy Resource Center. "We look forward to honoring the building's history by continuing to provide compassion, hope, and help to every person who walks through our doors."

 

Separate Ministries, Aligned in Purpose

As NMBCH passes on this building, it does so with full trust in the PRC's distinct calling and capable leadership. And as the PRC receives it, they do so with gratitude not only for the property, but for the witness of a faithful ministry choosing generosity over self-preservation.

 

God has been faithful here. And the best is still to come for both.

 

Celebration Event

To celebrate this milestone, the New Mexico Baptist Children's Home and Family Ministries and the Pregnancy Resource Center of Eastern New Mexico invite the community to join them for a dedication celebration on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 3:00 pm. The event will be held at the Massey Center on the campus of the New Mexico Baptist Children's Home, located at 2200 South Avenue I, Portales, New Mexico. All are welcome to come and give thanks to God for His faithfulness and to bear witness to this moment in the ongoing story of His work in Eastern New Mexico.
