Qualifications

Beside job-specific qualifications, each person on staff at NMBCH must:

  • Have a minimum of a high school education and must be willing to participate in continuing education and training.
  • Be an active member of a Southern Baptist Church
  • Have a deep personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
  • Show evidence in their daily life of Christian character and commitment 
  • Show in their daily relationships, appropriate compassion and concern for the well being of children and families.
  • Feel a special calling to work with children.
  • Be married a minimum of two years if they are a couple seeking employment as houseparents.

residential care administrator

  • Portales Campus

NMBCH is currently seeking a Residential Care Administrator to lead and support Christ-centered care for youth in residential settings. This role provides oversight and guidance to houseparents, case manager, barn/4-H staff, maintenance personnel, and coordinates the transition-to-adult program. The ideal candidate will be passionate about serving children and families, committed to excellence in care, and skilled in team leadership.

NMBCH is currently seeking highly committed married couples to serve in the role of houseparents for its campuses in Portales.


  • Estancia Campus

NMBCH is currently seeking highly committed married couples to serve in the role of houseparents for its campuses in Estancia. 



BARN staff/4-H Facilitator

  • Portales Campus

The Barn Staff/4-H Facilitator plays a critical role in supporting the children through their interaction with NMBCH owned animals and the 4-H program. 



WORKAMPER

  • Portales Campus

NMBCH is taking applications for a workamper for the summer  (mid-May through August). We are seeking a couple or single to volunteer 16-22 hours a week helping to feed animals and do barnyard type chores and lawn chores.
