NMBCH Begins Search for a President/Executive Director
The board of the New Mexico Baptist Children's Home and Family Ministries announced today that it will begin a search for a new President/Executive Director.
Following the NMBCH Board's decision to place its President/Executive Director on a sabbatical leave effective November 30, 2021, the board has decided not to return the President/Executive Director to that position. The President/Executive Director's employment will end effective today, January 21, 2022 as the board begins its search for new leadership.
Throughout this recent process, children under NMBCH care have remained, and continue to be, safe under the care of NMBCH's regular house parents. Other ministries and services NMBCH offers continue as well. The board looks forward to identifying a candidate for President/Executive Director that will continue the important work of NMBCH and position the organization for further growth.
The board expresses its appreciation for the hard work of its dedicated staff to maintain its operations during this time. It is also grateful for the continued support of friends, donors and community who make its ministries possible.
The New Mexico Baptist Children's Home and Family Ministries was founded as the New Mexico Baptist Orphans Home in May of 1919 by the efforts of leadership from First Baptist Church, Portales. Since then, its ministries have expanded and its name has changed, but children and families remain its primary mission. The home operates active children's residential facilities in Portales (its main campus) and just outside of Alamogordo. It also operates a separate ministry center in Portales and is developing a residential facility in Estancia. It is an independently operated entity of the Baptist Convention of New Mexico.
