The Barn Staff Member/ 4-H Facilitator plays a critical role in supporting the children through their interaction with NMBCH owned animals and the 4-H
program. They are responsible for the care of the animals and teaching the children how to care
for and exhibit the animals. In addition, they are responsible for the upkeep of the barn complex.
The Barn Staff Member/ 4-H Facilitator should exhibit Christian moral
character, be patient as the children learn, and have a good
work ethic.
Job duties include:

Working closely with Campus Director and other staff to provide an excellent animal
program.

Acquiring an appropriate number of animals to accommodate the 4-H program and the goals set forth for the
children.

Caring for animals through proper nutrition, vet attention when needed, cleanliness of pens and barns,
growing in knowledge and understanding of each breed, etc.

Keeping supervisor informed of changes, animal conditions/illnesses, or donations.

Teaching the children how to properly care for the animals and how
to exhibit them.

Maintaining grounds and property associated with the barn program.

Purchase of supplies for the barn program and keeping within the prescribed budget.

Register children/animals for county fair and oversee
the activities related to those.

Leading 4-H program.

Following the Policy and Procedure Manual and reporting
any donations to the office.

Help in other areas of campus when needed.

Other duties as assigned.
The Barn Staff Member/ 4-H Facilitator is expected to work 40
hours a week. Any overtime must
be approved in writing by immediate supervisor. The Barn Staff Member/4-H Facilitator may be considered for housing on campus which is connected to their employment.
