Owen Cottage: Small actions, Big Rewards

by Tyler and Ana Fort (houseparents)

At NMBCH, we want to highlight the good news stories from our cottages. The first good news story to kick off this new series comes from Owen Cottage. We hope you will return to read more Cottage Good News stories.

In the brief time we have been here, we have seen growth in our kids, but one has stood out the most. When we began at NMBCH,  we had one little one who had trouble writing her name, being attentive and not distracting to other students in school.

Over the Christmas break, we really had a chance to pour into the kids since we had a lot more time with them. We saw that this child began to blossom. We worked with her on counting and ABC's hoping she would retain most of the information we were sharing.

After a few weeks of being back in school, we met with her teacher, and her teacher praised her on how well she was doing in school, being more vocal when she needed help, and being less disruptive.

It is amazing to witness what seems like God working in small ways turn into major victories. We continue to pray the kids will retain more and more of the world around them.

A little holiday break fun. Nothing like an obstacle course to get the brain working!

Jesus walks on the Kingdom Journey with each person. It is wonderful to hear individual testimonies. Thanks for sharing.
