Each fall, across the state of New Mexico, our faithful partners rally together for what has become an annual tradition, the NMBCH Fall Food Drive. This effort fills the commissary and helps provide food for the children and families we serve throughout the entire year.
Donations begin in September, with churches and individuals collecting non-perishable items and monetary gifts. Then in October, during each association’s annual meeting, a representative from NMBCH arrives with an empty trailer and a heartfelt update. By the end of each meeting, that trailer is often overflowing with generous donations from our church partners.
It is a joyful sight to see the trailer filled with canned goods, dry staples, and other essentials. Monetary gifts are especially valuable because they allow NMBCH to purchase fresh produce, meat, and other perishables year-round, ensuring balanced meals and better nutrition for the children.
Thanks to the unwavering generosity of our partners, by the end of October, the commissary is nearly bursting. This outpouring of support is a testament to the love and commitment our churches have for the children who call NMBCH home.
Together, we are helping to rewrite futures by bringing hope today for rewritten tomorrows.
